12. European Combustion Meeting

This year's 12th European Combustion Meeting (ECM) was organized by the UK section of the Combustion Institute and held in Edinburgh from 7 to 10 April 2025. Several presentations and poster sessions highlighted the challenges and role of combustion technology in the use of sustainable energy sources and presented scientific approaches to achieving CO2 neutrality quickly.

Lars Koch from the ITV participated in the conference with his own contribution on the combustion of hydrogen in a jet in cross-flow burners and had the opportunity to present his research results from the Hestia project (Hydrogen Combustion in Aero Engines). The special format of the ECM offered opportunities for professional exchange with international colleagues on the already known challenges of hydrogen combustion. The new contacts offer potential for future collaborations and projects that can address further research needs.

The ITV would like to thank the ECM organization team and all participants for the scientific exchange.
