Heat transfer in industrial processes

Heat transfer plays an important role in many industrial processes. Continuous improvement of these processes ensures sustainable use of materials and energy.
The Institute of Power Plant Engineering and Heat Transfer investigates thermodynamic and heat transfer processes and phenomena in energy-intensive industrial processes. The research is carried out in cooperation with various companies, for example in cement production, aluminium extraction or glass production.  The Institute works specifically on improving the energy efficiency of these processes and on the resource-saving use of high-quality materials. The methods used range from experimental investigations to numerical simulations.
